The Clinton Recreation Department is announcing the scheduling of the local qualifying meet of the National Hershey’s Track and Field program. This event will be for Iowa residents only, boys and girls 5-14 years old according to the age they will be on December 31, 2010.
The annual Hershey Track and Field meet is scheduled for Sunday, May 15, 2011, at noon, at Coan Field, Clinton High School Bill Holsclaw Track. (Rain date to be announced). The meet will be free if you register at the Ericksen Community Center by May 12.
Registration on May 13, 14, or 15 will be $2.00. No registrations will be accepted after 12:30 p.m., May 15.
Ages 5, 6, 7 & 8 will compete starting at 1:00 p.m. Ages 9-14 will compete starting at 2:30 p.m.
Boys and girls ages 5-8 will compete in the local competition only. Ages 9-14 are eligible for participation in the state meet.
The Hershey’s Track & Field Meet is a national program sponsored by Hershey’s Chocolate Company. The event is co-sponsored by the Clinton Jaycees. For further information, contact the Recreation Department Administrative Office at 243-1260.

Participants must complete an entry blank signed by a parent or guardian. Entry blanks are available at the site the day of competition. Proof of age is required to advance to state competition.
