CHAPTER NO.  2286

 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF 4TH AVENUE SOUTH EAST OF THE ICE RR TRACKS TO THE FLOOD CONTROL LEVEE TO ROTARY PLACE.

            WHEREAS, Clinton Rotary has requested that a portion of 4th Avenue South east of 1st Street be renamed in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Club, and

            WHEREAS, no addresses exist east of the ICE railroad tracks on 4th Avenue South and it is acceptable for that part of 4th Avenue South east of the ICE railroad tracks to the flood control levee be changed to Rotary Place; therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLINTON, IOWA:

Section 1.       Street Name Change.  The name of that part of 4th Avenue South east of the ICE railroad tracks to the flood control levee is hereby changed to Rotary Place. 

 Section 2.       Certification to County Officials.  The City Clerk shall certify and file a copy of this ordinance with the Clinton County Recorder, Clinton County Auditor and Clinton City Assessor.  The City Clerk is also directed to notify all property owners affected by this change by ordinary mail.

 Section 3.       Street Signs.  The Street Superintendent is directed to make the appropriate changes to the street signs.

Section 4.       Repealer.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 Section 5.       Severability Clause.  If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

Section 6.       Effective Date.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
