CHAPTER NO. 2270 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLINTON, IOWA, 1999 BY AMENDING PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO FALSE BURGLAR ALARMS AND THE SERVICE CHARGE FOR THEM BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLINTON, IOWA: Section 1. Section Modified. Paragraphs 2 and 3 of Chapter 38, Section 02 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clinton, Iowa 1999, are repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof: 2. Upon the fourth false burglar alarm occurrence and each false burglar alarm occurrence thereafter within any calendar year, whether the false alarm was intentional or unintentional, and a police response is requested by the activation of said alarm system, the alarm system user will be charged a service charge of $75.00 for each occurrence due to employee error or negligence. Paragraph 4 of said section will be renumbered as paragraph 3. Section 2. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after January 1, 2004 and its publication as provided by law. ______________________________ Ronald J.
