Our Mission...to reduce the risk of death, injury and property loss from: fires, medical emergencies, disasters, rescue requests, hazardous material incident or any other emergency situation to our customers the Citizens and Visitors of our City.
Department ProfileClinton, Iowa is a city of approximately 28,000 residents located on the Mississippi River. We have in our jurisdiction two highway bridges, a major industry concentration, the Union Pacific Railroad Turn -Table Bridge which is their main east-west artery rail crossing the Mississippi River, and Clinton is the largest community within the 10-mile evacuation radius of the Quad City Nuclear Power Plant. The Clinton Fire Department covers 35 square miles in our primary response area. As the only all paid department within a 30-mile radius including the states of Iowa and Illinois, we provide 24-hour mutual aid to our surrounding communities which also includes Advanced Life Support capabilities from our three Paramedic Ambulances. Our department staffs three battalions of 14 personnel each and three command staff personnel. Our line personnel operate out of three strategic stations.
